I am watching Chris Matthews blow up at some congressman and oh my god it is so glorious. He is all HERE. HERE IS OBAMA'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE. I WILL MAIL IT TO YOU HOW ABOUT THAT. It is so excellent and I am jizzing in my little liberal pants over here (figuratively).

And then, because my life is incredibly interesting, I read Sarah Palin's resignation speech. And then I gagged. Not only was it poorly written, it was historically inaccurate (Alaska was bought under Johnson, not Lincoln). So call me a snob but holy crap it's like she was in the car a few minutes before and remembered she had to write a speech.

Apparently you are more at risk for swine flu if you have a good immune system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cytokine_storm#Role_in_pandemic_deaths). While I am about as scared of this as I am of West Nile (read: not at all), here is my plan for avoiding the swine flu should it come to DC:

1. find someone with mono (this should not be hard. I am in high school, after all)
2. contract mono
3. ?????
4. PROFIT!

Today I spent 5 minutes watching a video of Shawn Harris pull out his stitches. I was not actually all that grossed out.

Also I got my ass beat at debate on Saturday, but we might've won the last one, idk. I'm not that bummed, but I am still filled with rage at that Napoleon Complex-y kid who was such a douche and actually used the words "mofo" and "badass" in a debate round. ARGH

I effing hate when you can't adblock some of the adverts on the side of the page.

We did dream analysis in psych today and I thought it was pretty interesting. Apparently I have some issues to work out.

Using a new bag for school starting tomorrow. This one has pockets. Maybe that one will be my Burgundy Day bag and the zippery one will be my Gold Day bag.

So I'm kind of thinking I don't really agree with Geithner's bank plan. I don't want to sound like some sort of Paul Krugman stan but...Paul Krugman is pretty much right here. "We're not Sweden" is a shitty reason for doing anything.

Have to do a 'dream journal' for psych, which is fine, it's not a big deal, but...my dreams are either wildly inappropriate for a high school psychology class or too mundane to remember the next morning, so idk what I'm gonna do. I don't really want to share my Dev Patel dream with the class.

Speaking of 9/11, I remember being in London in December '01 (holy shit, I was in fourth grade then) in the hotel lobby while we were waiting for the room to be ready; they had the radio on and I vividly remember them talking about the outpouring of sympathy for the US and what have you...and then two years later the entire world hated us. So I am kind of on the verge of a little bit of a breakdown. I have so much to do before winter break. I don't know what to do for my psych project, I have five service hours to do for Spanish Honor Society by the end of the quarter, and I have so much shit to do for APUSH.

And we have our first debate competition on Saturday. I'll do fine as long as I'm judged the same way Sarah Palin was: wink once or twice, say 'you betcha' and mispronounce 'nuclear'.

I should find out about getting my license. What am I waiting for?

I am iPod-less tonight.

I got a new phone though (well, it's not new per se, but my mom didn't want it anymore and it's in tip-top condition since she hates it) and it's really nice. I had kind of a weird dilemma about whether to have "Paper Planes" or "The Final Countdown" as my ringtone. The Final Countdown is lulz; Paper Planes is awesome.

Finally got around to watching "Submission Part 1" (you know, the film that Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Theo Van Gogh did). It was so, so good and I think everyone should watch it. I'm quite biased though; I think Ayaan is absolutely brilliant. Hayley's reading her book for summer reading.

And Madison got hit in the face with a hockey stick and needed like 60 stitches. Heathus Christ.

I just finished Freaks and Geeks, and it's officially my favorite show ever. Although the ending was kinda sad. I thought Lindsay would get back together with Nick, but oh well.
